| The Sanctuary The sanctuary at Emmanuel United Church of Christ was completed in 1874. Numerous upgrades have been made throughout the years, but the old-fashioned charm of the lovely brick church on the bluff remains. The interior of the sanctuary features the original hardwood floors (the aisle and altar are carpeted) as well as the original barrel vaulted ceiling. Historic chandeliers light the sanctuary, while recessed lighting highlights the altar. Seven custom stained glass windows provide additional light and beauty. The Fellowship Hall Located behind the sanctuary, the split level Fellowship Hall was completed in stages over the years. A full kitchen was completed in 1912, which still serves today as the base of operations for our annual October Sausage Supper. In 1926, the "Old Hall" was built directly above the kitchen. Today, this area serves as our main youth gathering spot, as well as a frequent place for meetings and church productions. The final phase of the Fellowship Hall was the addition of the "New Hall" in 1965. On its lower level, the New Hall holds a second, fully functional kitchen and reception area. Upstairs encompasses our Sunday School classrooms and the nursery. Facility Rental Info/Contract |
